Are you planning on redecorating your bathroom? It doesn’t have to be costly process and since bathrooms are typically small spaces, simple and cost effective changes can make a huge difference.
Here are some tips to revive a tired bathroom with minimal expense.
1. A New Coat of Paint
Hanging wallpaper can be expensive and so can removing and reinstalling bathroom mosaic tiles. As an alternative to these two options, a new coat of paint to refresh the space will do just the trick.
2. Frame Your Mirror
Every bathroom deserves a beautiful mirror. A mirror adds a larger sense of space, bringing light into the room (and therefore making it appear brighter). Consider upgrading your mirror by creating a frame around it to give it that ‘custom’ look. Or take your existing mirror frame and spray paint it with a pop of colour. If your bathroom lacks the space for a large mirror, consider installing a wall-mounted mirrored medicine cabinet or a smaller uniquely framed mirror for extra character.
3. Enhance Lighting
If you have bad lighting in your bathroom it can be frustrating. For the best results when it comes to lightening up this area of the home, consider buying stronger LED light bulbs. Sometimes a brighter light bulb is just what’s needed.
4. Refresh the Hardware
Bathroom fixtures like hooks, handles, soap dispensers and faucets can be easily replaced to give this space an updated look and feel. For a safe option, most bathrooms look great when all metal looking objects hold the same colour and finish, however that doesn’t mean a little mix and match won’t look good if that’s what you prefer.
5. Brighten Up Surfaces
Time and use slowly damages the ‘glow’ of your sink, toilet, shower and bathtub. Return them to their original bright sheen by using an over the counter product to remove accumulated calcium or rust deposits. Look for a cleaning solution that specifically targets lime, calcium and rust and is suitable for use in a bathroom setting.
6. Add Fun Accessories
Flowers, vases, sculptures and coastal souvenirs (like seashells) add a fresh vibe to your bathroom.
